Ramendra Kumar is an award winning Indian writer for children with 12 books in English to his credit. His work has been published by such well known names like National Book Trust (NBT), Rupa, Children's Book Trust (CBT), Navneet and Vikas. His prize winning stories have found a place in seven anthologies brought out by CBT as a part of its prestigious 'Golden Set' series.

Ramen's work has been published and reviewed in major newspapers and magazines and translated into several Indian languages as well as Sinhala and Japanese. One of his stories has been included in the text book for class nine students of Norway while another story has been adapted as Kamishibai, the traditional form of storytelling in Japan. A modern fable written by Ramen has been picked up by the Mauritius based Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), for use in its anti-corruption campaign. The writer has been contributing regularly to ezines and more than a hundred and fifty of his literary pieces have appeared in various portals. He is the editor of a children's website: www.bolokids.com.
The writer is also an inspirational and motivational speaker for children and is frequently invited by schools to address students as well as to speak at seminars and workshops. Ramen had the rare honour of addressing a plenary session at the International Conference on Story Telling, organised by Association of Writers and Illustrators for children (AWIC) held at New Delhi in September 2007. He also presented a story at the 'Festival of Story Telling', which was one of the major attractions of the conference.
